Wichita State
how can you not root for vanderbilt considering they care less about athletics than say, virginia intermont.
I'm of course pulling for WSU.
florida state!! florida state!!!
NC State opens with a loss ! good day so far !
how bout them SHOCKERS!!!!
FSU will win series against WSU at the finals round!
Oregon State escaped Charlottesville yesterday and play Michigan next. I predict they will defeat Michigan to arrive at Omaha. After that, I wish them good success, not sure if they have the team though to take it all.
BEAVERS FOR THE REPEAT! PAT CASEY IS THE MAN!
i don't believe a big ten team has made the CWS since 1987 with barry larkin. kind of hard to believe considering the money and size of those schools. weather is obviously a big factor, but with the large cities up there, you'd think they be able to pull out enough talent to make a run.
The University of South Carolina! Barnyard!
Michigan does have a pretty good budget for most sports, but apart from them and OSU, the baseball budget in the Big 10 is usually paltry.
An example is MSU. Worst D1 baseball facilities I've ever seen.
So, first off, you have less baseball talent in the upper midwest than in the south, southwest (I've lived in all of these areas). Secondly, if you are a stud baseball player, the best Michigan or OSU can offer is a full ride and a chance to play in their so-so stadium where you are on the 4th most popular team on campus (behind football, basketball, and hockey). OR.........
You can go to an ACC, SEC, or Big12 south school. In the latter case, you'll play in a beautiful facility and have thousands of people watch you play. You'll also be on TV during the season AND in Omaha.
Big 10 teams are behind the 8-ball and it won't change for a while.
Good comments, I went to a baseball game at East Carolina and could not believe how many people show up for games in Greenville. The jungle in left field was incredible. Good times.

Pretty easy to believe when:
1. Can't consistently practice outside until at least early April
2. Have to travel to play at other people's parks until April
3. Crappy stadia
As an aside, although baseball attendance is nice at top programs like LSU, et al., those teams draw half of the per-game attendance as Minnesota and Wisconsin do in hockey.
Ole Miss all the way baby!

OK, I'll play... LSU's biggest baseball crowds are half the size of Big Ten hockey crowds because there's loads of other stuff to do in LSU's region of the country during baseball season.
During hockey season in Minnesota & Wisconsin it's either (a) sit inside at work, (b) sit inside at home, or (c) sit inside at a sports venue. With those options, the odds are pretty good that all Big Ten hockey games are going to draw large crowds.
By the way... it's the Gamecocks all the way, and I apologize to Karolina Kid in advance for the carnage that will take place in Chapel Hill this weekend. Maybe you can remind me what happened the last time these two teams met in a Super Regional.
There is only one Carolina and its in Chapel Hill baby !
Fix those uniforms chickens !!!!!!!
