Why? Do you need permission to like them? Man up do YOU like them or not?

bump
How the heck did you find this and then "bump" it???
Saw DR this past Jan at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ. He put on a great show with a mix of his new country stuff and the old Blowfish tunes. His voice was fine, the band was tight and the crowd loved it.
Every so often, I break out the Cracked CD in the car and rock out. Nothing wrong with that.
I think so, I really would like to see a re-union.
Yes they are...fun to see live, and great guys off the stage! Not to mention D Rucker is a huge country start now.
Still a great timeless commercial with Hootie:

Yes. Next question.
I thought Hootie himself went country.
Figured I would comment since this was on the front page. I know a few of the band members fairly well and they are a unique story. Killed it after a short stint as a local college rock band and made millions. Bassist was getting his masters in finance and made sure their contracts and investments were mint. Smart guys. Made more than enough money to live on forever, plus kids, grand kids, etc. Not really rock star types, so they do other things.
Regarding the comment that they are playing state fairs and volunteer fire department shows, etc. That has nothing to do with their level of success. They will periodically reunite for random shows to support a cause such as education or something. They don't do it for money. Darius Rucker himself was a very successful country star post Hootie and the Blowfish. He won a few Grammies for country alone.
Anyway, good stuff. And drummer did NOT go sub 34 but he did play D1 soccer.
and stop calling Darius Rucker, "Hootie." That is like calling Roger Waters, "Pink."
I stopped listening when the Hootie dude went country. I still like blowfish though I would never eat one.
Yes! All us 90s stars are still AWESOME, Hootie, me, Nickle back, Sir Mix-a-lot, Haddaway, Lou Bega, etc, etc We are all still, uh, killing it! Dude.

they were cool if you lived in Columbia, SC in the early 90s before they hit it, and experienced the many humid, Natural Light induced evenings filled with their music and the stupid-beautiful USC girls at the bars around campus.
This sounds like the seventh circle of hell.

I'm cool with people calling him Hootie, but I agree that Mr. Floyd deserves a little respect.
