Why you booing? I thought he played like an MVP against Golden State.
Couldn't carry his team when it mattered. Give me Lebron anyday. At his young age, he's already gone much deeper into the playoffs than mr mvp did this year. Maybe he's the regular season mvp...whoopdeedoo...that's like ranking #1 for the year in track and finishing 4th at the Olympics.
Yep. I already called it in another thread. Steve Nash deserved it yet again this year, but they don't want to give it to him 3 years in a row. Not that Dirk isn't good, but Nash was better this year.
One of the best scorers in the league but beside that he is mediocre, based on that Rashard Lewis could get the MVP.
Nash runs the show and scores as well; Duncan scores, rebounds and anchors the D,..
If I remember correctly, Dirk played in last years finals. So your argument of Lebrons been further than Dirk is wrong.
Thanks for try and see yourself out!
Nash had his best season ever and his team played just as good as Dallas and actually won their first round matchup. Nash deserves it hands down.
Dirk has Diop, Terry, Harris and yes Howard as teammates. How good would those guys be on their own? Probably 30-35 wins. But with Dirk, they go deep into the playoffs MOST years and make the finals. Dirk choked, but we're talking about a 7-foot great scorer, who rebounds better than Ben Wallace.
First, the mvp award is often given to an undeserving player (Malone over Jordan, Shaq only has 1). Second, voting is done near the end of the regular season. Dirk was one of several legit candidates at that point.
Agreed. Unfortunately the MVP award is based solely on the regular season.
The trend has been to give it to the best player on the team with one of the league's best regular season records. I'm not saying that is the best criteria, but that's how it's been.
With that said, it is hard not justifying the MVP for Nash again this year based purely on the fact that he won it the last two years with lesser statistics. This guy gets more efficient every year.
Using the criteria that if you take the player away from the team, how would they fair, agruement; I would have to go with Lebron. That team barely wins 20 games without him in the lineup. But as someone else mentioned, he was definitely saving himself during the regular season, and the "taper" appears to be working.
