I know Sid Barras, I have trained with and raced against hime. A jolly nice chap and an awesome cyclist.
Syd Barrett was also an awesome talent, but his carreer was somewhat shorter. Never met him, though I always wanted to. I might have been disapointed if I had, since he prefered not to dwell on his musician days.
I love the Pink Floyd and solo stuff.
i went to a party where he was present once, didn't meet the bloke formally though, it was a big house and negociating staircases wasn't always that easy, preferred to hang in the barn and on the terrace myself!!!
hmmmmm well i'm gonna have to go with Steve Vai-Midway Creatures, doesn't get more weird than this. there is also a wicked tap solo about half way that is pretty incredible.

The part in the documentary where he plays two guitars at once--one with his foot! That is weird.

Were there some exotic substances being passed around? Did you partake?
Did any of the others present that you know talk to Syd?
of course there were, it was in the 70's, of course i did,
never regretted it for one minute and had no trouble whatsoever kicking it when i grew up and got a degree and a job and a girl that lasted for more than 2 rock festivals and 3 partys.I have very pleasant memorys of those long passed days.
forgot to answer one part.I remember talking to John Evan
and Glen Cornick (i went to uni with John but he was a bit older than me)I was a fresher and he was a Masters i think
There were a lot of "people" present as always -no one gave a shit, you didn't take notes for Hello and Voici in those days.
Purple Haze would about sum that up!!
