Bekele was not in the world cup 5k. He raced Mottram in the 3k. I believe it was a Kenyan and a Quatarian that beat Tegenkamp. Still an extremely impressive performance, perhaps more so then what the other three have ever accomplished.

Shaheen and Kigen beat Tegenkamp at the 2006 5000m World Cup. I think everyone Tegenkamp beat in the race had a slower PR than him. It was courageous of Tegenkamp though to throw in a 58, to which Shaheen answered back with a 54 the follow lap. I can't wait to see what Tegenkamp is capable of doing this upcoming year.
If Teg races the 2 mile at Pre, I think anything slower than Webbs AR would be a dissapointment for him. 8:09 is a more than reasonable prediction for him, if Webb, who has a slower 5k PR can run 8:11. Now, of course Webb has the wheels that Teg does not, but Teg likely will be stronger in a 2mile than Webb.
I don't know. Tegenkamp would need to have some wheels to do it. Webb has pretty good strength. Just because he hasn't run as fast as Teg just means he hasn't put in the same specific training for it, but 27:35, and even 8:11, is pretty strong. I mean, a 5000m runner held the record before Webb did. I wonder when Tegenkamp's next race is.
Throw Fam into the mix and we have a pretty good crop of young distance runners heading into the 2008 Olympics.
