I say yes.
I say yes.
Ha, at some points yea.
Probably one of my top 3 favorite musicians ever.
how many records did he release?
Heresy, I know, but I much prefer Elliott Smith. Similar style, sound, themes, and story yet more interesting, to me at least.
Still, Nick is pretty damn awesome as well.
Yeah, Nick and Elliott were both great. Too bad they both had more than that in common. There's a brand new Drake collection out now.
Confession time: WTF is GOAT, hahahahahaha???
Ding ding....greatest of all time.....hahahaha....
Carry on. :)
New book out titled WHITE BICYCLES Making music in the sixties, by Joe Boyd. I believe he produced Nick Drake.
Greatest-folk musician, acoustic guitarist
I've been listening to his music for over 30 years now and it still sounds beautiful. Great guitar, smoky vocals, tasty arrangements...
In fact, I tried picking 'To the Morning' on the guitar during lunch hour today.
I've been listening to Nick Drake lately, after realizing he's the same guy in some of my favorite movies (~Serendipity, Garden State). I can't believe this guy died over 30 years ago! His music is timeless and pure....
Richard Thompson might be greater
While I can't deny Richard Thompson, he's always been a little too depressing. "Shoot Out the Lights" is a classic though. Check out Jens Lekmann. He's saousy.

If you've been listening to the man for over 30 years then you would at least know that the song is called "From the Morning".
That being said I think Nick Drake is seriously under- appreciated for his music in his time. It's a shame that it too often takes an early exit from life to make others realize their beauty...sorry if that was too deep.

My mistake..I was typing a bit fast and thinking a bit slow.
For all fans of the Drake, I would recommend the book 'White Bicycles' by Joe Boyd, who produced some of Nick's early records.
"Gotta like the Drake!"
Nick Drake was AMAZING.
I mean, Cello Song... holy sh*t.
I like Elliot Smith better than Drake as well but I don't believe Smith would have been nearly as good without the foundation Drake laid. The future generations should be better than their predecessors.
