Has anyone here run this race? What did you think (scenery aside)? Course? Weather?
Thank you.

Thank you.
I know two people who ran Big Sur years ago. The same word was used for the scenery: breathtaking.
ha ha ha, nice.
Thank you, that is what I suspected!
I ran that race the first couple years and can say it is a very well run race and a great course.
Keep in mind that is starts and finishes in Monterey so you do not have the hills of Big Sur etc.

1. Yes, excellent race-- done it twice.
2. Very well organized, goody bags, expo, and post-race are excellent, prize money continues to increase every year.
3. The first half has a couple of turns and a few inclines (~miles 3-7 are a steady incline), but after the turn-around, it's pretty much all downhill and goes along the bay. I'd rate it as a medium difficulty course. Definitely NOT flat, but not extremely difficult.
4. The weather has been perfect the past 2 years. Light breeze off the bay and about 50 degrees.
I should also add there's plenty of hotels near the start of the race (within walking/running distance). You go right through Cannery Row (twice during the race), so if you get a hotel nearby everything is right there within running/walking distance. Airport is like 5 min. away!
