Hi, I am taking over for a significantly-sized race and I want to make sure I do everything to the best of my abilities which would mean extraordinarly well.
I think we all can agree (hopefully) that having an accurately measured course is extremely important. Absolutely critical for maintaining relevence in future years. I hate it when 5Ks are actually 2 1/2 miles.
I know all about how to get courses certified, and in theory, it should all work well and be legitimate. HOWEVER, I have seen a MORE than one instance where a SUPPOSEDLY certified course was FLAT OUT WRONG. I am sure I am not the only person to see this, and thus, become taintedly suspicious of all "certified" courses.
Is there anything better than having a race course certified so that people know that I have a legitimate course that is the distance as advertised?
Thanks in advance for your thoughtful answers.
