I have never worn or used a portable music device, don't own a Blackberry or Bluetooth. I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen an episode of American Idol, Dallas, Seinfeld or a 'reality' show. American Chopper is a reality show; I've watched that. Have never run on a treadmill, worn a water bottle belt or carried gel on a run. I haven't seen a first-run movie in, umm, can't remember when.
I own a lot of books on running but nothing by Dean or Pam.
I've never smoked anything, struck a woman or taken an illegal drug. I don't think Jeff has sold out. The Penguin gets too much credit for too much. I glance through RW regularly. I own a $20 watch & a 15 year old HRM.
I don't know why & don't care why depth of American male running has dipped since the Golden Age. I don't think it's USATF's job to improve the lot of American running. It's like asking schools to make students smarter without help from parents. I do think it's USATF's job to do their job better.
