What do the criminal lawyers on here think of this. I friend of mine was renting a room to a female. She hadn't paid for March and told my frined she was leaving April 2. He didn't hassle her at all or anything. Last week he gets home and there is a note left on the table by her saying the police in squad cars showed up started asking questions about my friend. She showed them his room and they took his computer. No warrant, no receipt.
Further research has revealed she went into his room(door was closed as usual, not locked though) which was off limits and used his computer to print a resume(which would have been impossible since he has no printer). She saved it into 'My Pictures' and then called the police saying she saw "questionable material". She has never been given permission to use said computer. She let the police in without the warrant showed them to his room and they took the computer.
My friend assures me there was no illegal photos anywhere on the computer. I believe him. What she would have seen was some adult photos and some under 18 non-nude modeling fully covered photos( Yes I know, legal but not moral), nothing more explicit. than you would see in a Sunday supplement or Olympic Balance Beam finals. He has a lawyer but is looking for second opinion serious answers. By the way happened in Northern California.
Please serious opinions only. Thanks.
