One of the nicest, smartest, most considerate and patient people I've met in the sport, and a great family man.
Is that a good statrt?
No, hows this
He is a douchebag and puts the Villanova Running program to shame. Now lets do this right.
Who's Marcus O'Sullivan?
Is he related to Sullivan O'Sullivan?

Absolutely great guy.
Gave a great talk in Boston this past weekend. Interacted well with his audience before and after, and clearly loves what he's doing. Wish I had athletes good enough to send to him. If his program has not met the Villanova standards of old lately, it's probably because:
1) many high schoolers have a lemming mentality
2) the competition for distance runners at the highest level is so much greater than in years past
3) his being generous to a fault and not spitting out a couple of deadbeat recruits of his in the way that they'd likely be handled at other high level programs...
All that having been said, he's simply a class act.

He's not as good as Centrowitz.
Keep trying to stir something up here and I don't think you'll find many takers. He's a great guy who cares about his runners.
Pretty funny too. If he has an ego, he hides it well.
Also a great guy. Different people, great guys, both very good at what they do.
marcus is a cool guy.
I've only ever had brief interactions with the guy at his coaching clinic, but he was a really funny, down-to-earth guy, who genuinely listened to what people had to say.
Everyone who's ever met him knows what a great guy he is and you can tell this by the fact that no one has even mentioned his running stats yet, which I will do briefly for the people who don't know - 100+ sub 4s, 3x indoor world champ, 5 Wanamaker Mile wins. Of course my kid sister can bench more than him. Actually my kid sister could bench him.

Alex? Is that you?
He is the best human being I have ever met in this sport. End of story
I almost applied to Nova just to run for him.

Just curious. What exactly is a "lemming mentality"? What does that mean?
I met him my freshman year at the Duke Invitational. My freshman year was rough and I was running slow times. I recall him asking me, out of the blue, what event I had run and my time. I told him I had run a 15:50 5k and that I was happy that my times were starting to come down. We talked for about ten minutes before he let on that he was the coach of villanova. I never knew who he was, but a week or so later, I saw an article in runnersworld saying he had broken 4 minutes for the mile well over 100 times. He talked to me like I was just as important as one of his own athletes and I will never forget it.
Yeah, he's done some amazing things with that school! It must be hard to recruit great kids to a school like Nova. Look at the all improvement his guys have made running under him, guys like Blinko, Hayden, Jabut, Curtis, ect. The guy has shown time and time again that he can take good guys and make them great. He has a stable of 1:50 guys now; I can't wait until they start running 1:47s. Look at how much the Cross Country team has improved in just one year! They will be top 10 by next year.
Lemmings are birds which follow each other blindly off cliffs...to their demise.
sorry..not birds....rodents...
I was a team mate of Marcus at Nova.
The guy is a class act - from a very, very, modest life in Ireland to great success at his sport, he has retained an esteemed character. Humble through and through.
Character = what you believe you are and strive to be
Reputation = what other people think you are
Marcus should care less about his reputation, because his character speaks for itself.
Nobody who has ever spent 5 minutes with the guy could possibly have anything negative to say about him.
