Makes me smile....
Makes me smile....
Pretty cool.
Good thing he got banned.
Don't want some random guy out there hugging people, someone could get hurt.
Our running club puts on a womens only 5k every spring and every year one dude (the same dude) is the official hugger in the chute. For some reason that just weirds me out. We don't have an official hugger at other races, just very creepy.
If he was a chick w/ huge jugs, it wouldn't have taken :52 for the first hug to happen...
at a "Race for the Cure" event they had Hooters girls at the finish line cheering people on. I thought that was delightfully tacky.

yet unrefined?
In '94, I finished in a race right behind Uta Pippig, I believe she just turned 40 and still looking great. She was giving out hugs in the finish chute, turned around and wrapped her arms around me. I will savor that hug forever...
Oops, I meant '04. The thought of that hug scramblled me up a bit.
2004 Bellin Run in Green Bay, WI
Uta Pippig 64 2/261 4/3242 36:22 5:52 17:56
David L Dewey 67 11/174 63/2895 36:30 5:53 18:11
That's not the race she crapped her pants was it? Oh wait, that was Boston. I never saw anyone wrap themselves in a foil blanket faster than Uta Pippig with crap and diahrrea rolling down into her socks...

Badger - You and Detective are wrong! Sorry, Dave Dewey, you got involved in this. Check coolrunning.com for Massachusetts results in 2004. Browse to "Ollie McCourt Classic" in Boston, September. Here's a photo at the finish - http://jimrhoades.com/04/ollie/page15.html (I think you have to paste the link in your address window). She was 39 and I was 49. There, I outed myself to save another runner humiliation. Look at that smile on Uta's face.
