For only the second time since their first Boston Marathon in 1981, Rick and Dick Hoyt will not be participating. Rick recently underwent surgery for an infection in his hip and is physically unable to compete this year.

It is my ritual each year to catch pictures of them at both Boston and Falmouth.
I hope for a speedy recovery.
I have to give the dad credit. As Rick Hoyt has grown bigger and Dick has grown older (65 years), Team Hoyt keeps on rolling. I haven't followed their most recent efforts but in talking to Dick a couple summers ago, he was hoping to compete in Kona again. That's incredible.
