Is Sell injured? Why didn't he run in Chicago with most of the Hanson team?

i believe he mentioned that he would not be running anything long until the trials
Brian has retired. He made the decision after Houston. He has always been an emotional runner. Houston made it obvious that he would never be able to compete with athletes of the talent of Ryan Hall and therefore decided to get on with his life.
Which is really a shame, considering he was with all the other Hanson runners who participated in last Sunday's 16-mile training run from the Lake Orion store, along with slower schlubs like me. I suspect that someone in the program could give a more authoritative answer. But as I said, the visual evidence suggests that he hasn't quite retired.
And in chatting with at least one Hanson runner and one store manager, my impression was that he was maybe just under the weather or had hit a bad spot in training. Which I'm told happens to runners who don't spend a lot of time on this message board.

LOL
Bob,
He is still living in the area (as he and his wife have bought a home) and running. He has quit "competitive running" but hopes to help his teammates in their preperation for the trials. He still enjoys his teammates and has accepted a job as a pool boy for Clint Verran.
Yep,
He definitely has retired, I talked to him yesterday. After deciding that cleaning out Clint Verran's pool wasn't as exciting as he thought it would be, he moved on and signed a deal to give motivational speeches with Jim Helwig, formerly known as The Ultimate Warrior. They tour facories, small colleges and such. Quite a speech!
Good luck to him!

Seriously? Does anyone know how to book The Ultimate Warrior? That would be awesome!

I heard that Rexing was also going to be part of this tour and that re-enactments of the 13:55 would be part of the program.
No, and Chicago was over 5 months ago.

Ha! I just read the wikipedia page on the Ultimate Warrior. Hilarious! I bet every WWF wrestler has an equally humorous entry. What a great way to kill time. I may not be back to letsrun for a while.
I am talking about the Shamrock Shuffle. Not the Chicago marathon.

Verran's pool needed some serious work after all the snow this winter and with all the motivational speaking Brian wasn't able to get to it until the weekend. I mean, this speaking gig is really taking off for him. Although I heard it was with the guy who wrote The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, you know, more New Agey, No Long Run stuff.
He just posted 114, 130, 129, and 136 miles the last 4 weeks on athleticore.com so he seems to be back to me.

Good, loser troll.
Brian Sell is the only elite runner that my co-running bubbies(old farts trying to qualify) know because of his high finish at Boston! Doenst he realize he sort of Famous for us qualifiers!
After cleaning Clint's pool out, which was just filthy, Brian decided to practice some moves involving jumping from Clint's roof into the pool. He hit his head on the deck rail and hasn't been right since. Now he walks around muttering something about some guy thumpin his bible, preaching John 3:16- Well, how 'bout Sellbo 3:16!!!
Brian caught the avian flu from sleeping on a pillow filled with Mike Morgan's chest hair. He is cleaning Clint's pool to pay for his treatments from Christie's pharmacy. He may be back, but he may just start driving tow truck for Byer's too.
Bob, this 16 mile training run of which you speak... was it free?

I have it from a good source that he got a gig as a hand model for a local car parts company that is selling a new line of black mahagony stick-shift levers and knobs.
