I ran the Georgia Marathon this morning and the water stations were horrible. Only two stations on the whole course had anything besides water (Powerade in this case). Those were at mile 4 and something like 17. At several places on the course offical signs were placed announcing that a water and powerade station was coming up, then the first water station after the signs was over two miles away. And my last complaint, water stations were not located closely after the two Cliff shot stations.
I know this was an inaugural event, but ING has put on many other marathons and there are people in Atlanta who have experience putting on very large running events (Peachtree Roadrace).
Other than the problems with the water stations I thought the event was well run. The course is hilly and the weather was record highs.
