I dont think I wanna run anymore, how do I get remotivated...
I dont think I wanna run anymore, how do I get remotivated...
set realistic goals
map out a specific plan to reach those goals
talk it out with someone who will help motivate you
thank God you CAN run. I had my knee torn up in a car accident, 5 years ago, a few weeks after I had set a 10k pr in a road race. I'd give anything to be able to run free again instead of walk with a limp.
REad once a runner, watch an inspiring running movie.
Join a running club and/or try to arrange to run with other people. Watch a motivating video like Fam's.
I second the Once A Runner idea, that will make anyone get off the couch
Look at some of the coverage on here of World XC
Take a pre-determined amount of time off, like two weeks or a month, and then start back with some easy runs. Schedule a race and follow a training plan.
switch to a different distance, like a sprinting event or at least a distance that is at least two or three down from your primary.
set goals
use a new training style & format(like 10day cycles) that you're not familiar with
Once a Runner works. If you're not a Prebasher watch Pre or read the book Pre. His work ethic and love for the sport will help you.
Watch some of the youtube videos of major races. Then just try to remembre why you started running and the enthusiasm you had.
I sometimes struggle with the same things. I have been running for over 35 years and I lose enthusiasm, I just can't imagine my life without running, that keeps me going. Life sometimes gets in the way- don't let that happen.
watch this and be inspired

Sometimes you just need a break to think things over. Assess your past training. Learn from your mistakes. Think about what running means to you.
If you are young (i.e.: under 25)... I would try to just stick at it. Things go up and down during those years.
Watch some track races, read a book, run for the fun of just running (get on a trail, or a fun route).
Good luck!
I have been doing a bunch of thread reading on here and have read some good advice to give you but the best one that I can come up with is do what Brandon Leslie did and have an interview about how you could be the next world record holder if somebody would give you some money, then just take the money and RUN.

Meaningful goals. Are you tired? Disappointed? Disgusted? reasses. Take a break. Go for walks. Write down the 5 top reasons for running.

I had this happen in college. I just stopped, didn't run a step for a year and then ran bit by bit for another 6 months. Then all of a sudden one day it was back and I'm coming back. No one or anything can single-handedly motivate a person to run who has lost the "spark". I believe that if you truly have felt like this for a prolonged period of time the "quick" solutions will only spark your interest for a short period of time. You have to ask yourself why this is happening and decide if a break is needed. Either you keep running and training as if the passion was still there, with the hope that it returns amidst the training, or take some time to yourself and re-evaluate your motives and reasons for running still.
If you don't want to run, stop running for a season. Do something else to stay somewhat fit so that when your motivation comes back you can get back into shape more quickly. Ride a bike, swim etc. Time away from the sport seems to help motivation come back. But if you just sit on the couch you may never come back, STAY ACTIVE.
