I used to be good - sort of anyway. Now after 6 years away from the sport I want to come back and do a few masters races - min aim is to win or place in a regional x-c meet but obviously track and road would do no harm. I quite becuase of injuries in the past and also to take up biking - but now I've got a hunkering to get running again - first love and all that.
Anyone got any tips as to how to make those first steps back on the road to well being ? All help gratefully received.

By the way fo reference - if it matters I used to be a 14.10 5k runner - would like to be able to run 26-27 mins for 5 miles within 6 to 9 months and currently I'd guess I could just about shuffle 3 to 4 mikes at 8 min mile pace. Not much to go on I know but I'm all ears.
