Hey ////, I feel your pain, I'm 6'5" and everyone drafts off me too. It's like NASCAR behind me.
Anyone getting a 3 hour group together? I've never run Boston and am pretty paranoid about the course. I've read lots, like taking the first 16 miles easy, but..how easy?
Let's say a guy like me is going for 3 hours. Should I run even splits, knowing that it'll take less effort in the first half (so it might "feel" like a 1:32) leaving more gas in the tank for the second half which might "feel" like a 1:28?
Or should I pad my first half with, say, a 1:28 which would be the same effort as a 1:30 on a flat course?
Is it worth it to jump in with the 3 hour pace group? I'm not big on those race sponsored pace groups, personally, but I know they're headed up by experienced runners.
Thanks in advance!
