i have noticed that the best times from any event 800m up are all run by someone who run a fast race a distance above there specialty . its hard to explain.
the best 800m times are from a miler background. a good mile time come from people who run the 5k. a fast 5k by the 10kers.
okay look at seb coe he ran a very fast 800m when training for a mile. an El G running fast miles when running/winning at the 5000m but you dont see El G going below the mile only above. same with kenensia running fast 10ks so he can run fast 5ks. bernard lagat running some 5k races than the mile not running 800m but above.
i guess what i am trying to say is that if you want to run a fast 800m run the mile an if you want to run afast mile run the 5000m an so on. fast 5k run the 10k and fast 10k run marathon.
