It looks like the tables have turned. After everyone talked about Webb dodging Symmonds at Tyson it now appears that that Symmonds is the one who is doing the dodging at USATF

The 800 and mile are 15 mins apart. He chose the event he was 2nd at nationals last year. You know the one he's favored to win. Sounds like a good idea to me.
It's nice to win a U.S. championship, and Symmonds wants one and the 800 is his best event. End of story.
I remember from my high school days when we had a runner who was clearly the best in the 800 but just second in the mile, with very little chance of beating the best guy. But he insisted on running the mile at the state meet; he didn't prize a championships against easy pickings and he wanted to face the best runner in the state. We thought HE was nuts. And he did lose.
Dumb. The 800 is his event. He won multiple multiple ncaa championships in it and scored 2nd at USATFs last summer. He's not dodging anyone.
Last I checked, the 800 is at 4:13 and the mile is at 5:14. 61 minutes is my calculation.
Looks like a few people forgot to turn on their sarcasm filters this morning.

Hey retards, this guy is making fun of how many of you said Webb was dodging Symmonds a few weeks ago. He is not serious. You are the dumb ones it you are trying to defend Symmonds. We all know Symmonds is a very good and accomplished runner, end of story.

Hey retardo, the mile is Webb's main event. Webb dodged Symmonds in the mile to run the 3k, but ended up not running at all. We have a good argument, you don't.
No, he was entered in the 3000 because it was a more competitive field.
By the way- Symmonds is entered and declared in both the 800 and the mile, as well as the preview on the IAAF homepage saying that he is going to attempt the double- so he's not dodging, he's even going for it AFTER his 800.
Should he try the shot this weekend, that is the most competitive field at the championships.

Your arguement is better because you are arguing different points.
No one is dodging anyone, no one dodged anyone a few weeks ago. Both runners are doing what they, and their coaches, think is best for them, POINT.
This whole thing is inane. I think that was the point of the original post... and to get retards riled up.
They are both being dodgy. If webb wanted to race symmonds he would run the 800m and if symmonds wanted to race webb he would run the mile. Then they both would be declared dodgy for running in different events causing the same outcome a win for each. webb in the 800m and symmonds in the mile. However both are dodging fountain by running this race and not seeking him out and taking back what was stolen from them at tyson.
It burns when I piss...could I possibly have an STD?
Well, if I was Symmonds or his coach I would bring him along just the way they are doing it. It's not about "Rodger Dodger" it is about building confidence and chosing races wisely like Nic Beaudeau(Mottram's Coach) does. It seems like we all want to through guys that show talent in races over there head or against the some of the best right away, doesn't seem right to me, but then again I don't blame Ritz for not going to Al Queda Africa right now either!
