Internet information can be incorrect, but from my research I am seeing that Kilkenny attended U of O from 1970-1974, but did not graduate with a degree.
Per Dutch Baughman, the Executive Director of Division I-A Athletic Directors Association there is not another AD in the nation without at least a bachelor's degree.
Kilkenny is responsible for a lot as AD but most importantly he has NCAA mandated graduation rates which if not met (see the Montana State football program) can result in the loss of scholarships.
Seems the AD, who is encouraging athletes to graduate should himself have a degree. It might be a great story that without a degree he built his insurance company into a billion dollar company, but running an insurance company is different than running a athletic department.
