Come on, now...what is so bad about doing something nice for someone else? Enjoy love while you have it. Life is short.

It's no different than courting or marriage, so I don't see what the big deal is. Man buys woman lots of expensive unnecessary stuff, woman gives sex in return, and everyone is happy for a short time. It's legal prostitution, but so is marriage, which is why the most successful dudes financially are with the hottest women.
please remember, you're trying to reason with a group of distance runners. now, in general, that might not be the worst thing (although it's not the best either)...but these are distance runners on letsrun. if there is any possible way to put a negative spin on anything and everything, these guys will find a way. it's what they do best.
To all of you 20 and 30 somethings from a forty something....
I've been married 20+ years...it doesn't get easier with age!!!
just dropped 7K on Valentine's jewelry for my bride....
but she's worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VD is Feb. 14th, my fiance's b-day Feb. 15th, oh how lucky I am!!!! Everyone else can quit bitchin....
actually you are lucky b/c you kill two birds with one stone.
3 days to hate: Anniversary, her Bday, Valentines Day. No matter what you do, you could've/should've done something different/better.
jewelry? why?
I thought v-day was originally just a great excuse for a nice dinner, lingerie, and a great rumble in the bedroom.
its about love, not commercialism (or at least it should be!)
I think I got you beat. My first marriage anniversary was March 13th, my current wife's birthday is March 14th, and my mother's birthday is March 15th. Can I tell you how awkward it is to accidentally get the first two confused?

You're single until you're married. You're not married. You're single.
