Last month (about christmas time) I had come down with a bad case of patella tendonitis. At first sign I started running every second day, it still got worse, so I switched to every 3rd, and I got very slow and I mean slow improvent. I have been on and off for the last month (maybe 1 or 2 runs a weak + lots of swimming) and it is still not getting better. I am now thinking about getting a cortisone shot. It would not be my first option but running is seriously important to me. (I am grade 12 4:07 miler). What are the major things I should know. Will one shot have any permanent effect or anything I should know about. I would really like all the information about them. Also if I get the shot should it make my injury go away fully, as long as I ease back into it? (btw right now I have been icing like 4 times daily, take anti inflams, and going to physio)
Any help would be very much appreciated.
