Ok....so I'm a member of this big co-ed running club. Its been around for a real long time-one of the oldest groups in the area....it has tons of members..some active, some not that active, both men and women. And we have non running activities-like an end of year banquet, and we sponser a huge road race every year. We also have a few mixxers at bars that arent really club functions, but it gets everyone to meet socallay...
Any way, we have this one individual that was informed last week, that he is no long welcome with the club. Hes not allowed at practices, or any other club event, and they will not execpt his dues payment. it was determined by our directors, that his behaivor was 'un-becomming' a club member.
Now this guy is loud, and very obnoius, and can be offensive...he likes to pattern himslef after howard stern, and has said so many times...Now i think his an alright guy, and never has bothered me. But appearently at the last mixxer, some of the women members of our club took offensive to some of the things he said.(he said right after that he made a few lesbian comments/jokes)..
Instead of saying something to the guy, the woman wrote a complaint letter to the board. the board met, and voted to boot him for the club.
I was just wondering what everyone thought...I really dont think it was fair to boot the guy...He maybe a bit crass, but thats the way he is. It's wide spread knolwge that a lot of the people in charge of the club just dont like him personally. A lot of people on the club think the board acted personally against the guy--that they dont like his personallity, so the removed him. i agree, and I dont think its fair...
