Her favorite is Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company, near eastbay and market street.
This explains a lot.
P. Porch is okay at best. Keep in mind that some of the best restaurants in the Holy City aren't even downtown.
J Bistro in MP is amazing, as is the Mustard Seed.
The Wreck is fantastic for standard seafood, and as someone else mentioned, Bowens Island is the straight up mack-daddy of oysters, frogmore and others. They are back open, but I am not sure if their hours are the same.
Momma Browns in MP makes the best barbeque in the area, and head out to Poe's on Sullivans for fish tacos and beer.
Doe's Pita for lunch, right on Bay.
Bubba Slye's used to be good for lunch, until they opened the new one on upper King, now it is mediocre.
For a night out, try Il Cortile de Re, Fulton 5 and Rue de Jean. Also, Cru Cafe is a pretty good little place.
