Hi Mark. I really enjoy the Flocast videos. I agree with the other poster about the best vids being the ones showing the team workouts/team meetings/coaches. Some coaches/athletes are eloquent, for example Pat Shane, and some aren't. You can't go wrong with good action sequences, though.
Please consider background noise cancellation, or at least minimization. I recall one interview in particular that was conducted in a therapy room and the noise of the whirlpool pretty much drowned out the interview itself.
I second the request for more interviews of women, especially women coaches, since there are so few. Also, female athletes:
Carrie Tollefson
Lauren Fleshman
Shalane Flanagan
Colleen DeReuck
Mary Cullen (if she's still in the States)
Julia Stamps (!)
Amy Rudolph
Jen Rhines
Samia Akbar
foreign elites, too!
Men:
Jack Daniels (!)
Christian Hesch (would be very entertaining, I'm sure)
I don't know if you do any prep before conducting the interviews, I'm guessing not, because the questions sound very off-the-cuff. Maybe consider prepping some more insightful questions...think about your audience of runners, high school coaches, masters runners, and dreamers. What would they want to ask these people you're interviewing? Cover some new ground in your questions, or take a new slant on a commonly asked question. Also, the more prepared & confident you are, the better you'll come across as an interviewer.
Thanks for being open to suggestions.
