I was looking at ways to run some hard workouts while running alone. I am running about 40-45 miles a week right now, all easy with a long run of 10-12 miles. Just yesterday I won a USATF certified road 5k in 16:02 after basically just jogging everyday. That is about equal to my PR on the roads (this effort definitely surprised me) and I was looking for something to get me down to the 15:45 range. I run alone nearly every day so I am looking for something that is quick, that allows me to run a hard effort without necessarily worrying about splits and time. I don't have time to run much more then 45-50 miles a week because I am very busy as a grad student. Any constructive advice would be helpful.
