Prattville High School representing South Alabama finally did the impossible by defeating greatest dynasty in Alabama class 6A history by a score 35-21 saturday night in Birmingham. Hoover had won 4 straight state titles and was in their sixth consecutive state championship game, so this was quite a daunting task. The Bucs had an enormous target on their back all season and managed to prevail in two epic match-ups with Vestavia Hills. Coach Rush Propst's squad took the loss with true class as evidenced by QB Ross Wilsons quote
"We went to the middle of the field and congratulated our opponent and took (the loss) like a man."
Congratulations to Prattville for on their state championship and proving they are worth every bit of it, and as well to Hoover for their great streak, tradition and class in rare defeat.
