i can't say i'm a huge fan of their music alone, but i did see them in concert one time and witnessed one hell of a good set.

another AC/DC classic: Thunderstruck. i also like the POD song. a little Godsmack can get u pretty pumped and a little bit of older Stone Temple Pilots rocks.
what sort of tunes get your marathoning motor humming?
Y.M.C.A
marathoning is all about "aerobic" running - right? HA!
Hey Hilly, AC/DC works best for me too. Especially before doing my track workouts.
"Beds Are Burning" by Midnight Oil. Its beat reminds me of running with good turnover and getting into a groove near VO2 max.
cool song, scary lead singer.

Supposedly a fast miler as a lead singer.
Eye of the Tiger
If I recall right his name was Peter Garret; mile best: 4:01.
Going back a few years...
"After the Flesh" (Thrill Kill Kult)
"New Jack Hustler" (Ice-T)
"Ceremony" (New Order) -- kind of odd, but the rhythym really matches my stride
Must agree with those who said theme from "Rocky".
That song and those movies inspired me to train like nothing else.
New Jack Hustler was a classic, but my all-time fav is "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger.
"Motorin'...what's your price for flight"
Dream On (Aerosmith)
Baba O' Reilly (The Who)
Bad, Sunday Bloody Sunday, One, or Where the Streets Have No Name (U2)
the best song of all time is probably "born to run." My personal favorite's would be some stuff by a band called One Minute Silence, very uptempo metal along with another band called Ultraspank. Throw in some Rage, maybe some Pantera: Far Beyond Driven and I'm ready to throw down some serious times!
When I'm busy trimming the miles off my marathons I like to
listen to anything by the Cutting Crew, I also find Cheap Trick to be a "cut" above the rest.
Joe McV, this goes back even farther than yours I bet...I never hop on the 'mill without cranking up some gritty, hard-driving Buck Owens tunes...no, I'm not kidding here folks...but of course I'm one of those who, as the line from The Blues Brothers goes, "prefers BOTH types of music, country AND western"
I am going to have to go with Time after Time
Martin, that was so funny I spit my soda pop out on the keyboard as I was reading your post!
Marty,
You forgot "Cuts Like a Knife" by Bryan Adams, "Cuts You Up" by Peter Murphy, and "Your Cheatin' Heart" by Hank Williams, Sr.
