Has anyone read a Confedration of Dunses by John Kennedy? I heard about it on Dyestat and I would rather have the LetsRun opinions?

That would be A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. A great book.

very true.
a great book. a must read.
i read it in high school, not for a class, i just stumbled on the paperback somewhere and started reading it. well worth your time.
Amazing book, very funny and well written. A modern masterpiece of fiction.
Wild terrific book. One of those authors whose genius and madness were right next to each other. Too bad he couldn't keep the madness at bay.
read "neon bible."
Another vote for the book, one of my favorites.
Shame about the fate of Toole.
Any news on the movie? It has been cast and optioned more times than any other book in Hollywood. At one time it was going to have John Candy as Ignatius. Well, that didn't work out because they couldn't even get started before Candy dropped dead. Then Chris Farley was interested but I don't even think they got to the talking stages.
awesome book, definitely read it.

I thought Belushi may have been the first to have been contacted. He died soon afterwards. So getting cast as Reilly is not the road to a long and fruitful life.
Interesting question about the film, because I remember reading about Will Ferrel being asked about the part of Ignatius J. on IMDB, but it is now completely gone. I guess they pulled it from the site.
I have a feeling Hollywood would ruin the story. I don't want to see a film.
Look what they did to H2G2...
Here's a link that mentions both Belushi and Ferrell but not (I think, after a cursory glance) Candy or Farley. Pretty good. Pretty pretty pretty PRET-ty good.
Great book! Don't stop after the first 25-50 pages.
