Big recruit for the Buffs. Maybe the next individual national champion from Colorado?

Last year I heard all the hype about this guy from a poster. He kept going on & on & on at how good he was and that he was the next BIG thing. In fact he was SOOooooOOOooo excited about him that I wouldnt be surprised if he had an erection while he was posting.
V6 could be the same Tebo-Lover Groupee that posted last year...I dont know but I wanted to set the record straight about this guy.
Yeah...the guy is good but no reason to mess all over yourself.
Did he win Footlocker last year like this guy said he would ??...No, he got 16th.
Did he blow away the field at NON earlier in the year like the guy predicted??..No, he got second. Decent run.
Did he blow away the field at the Mt SAC XC invite a month ago ?? NO.....he got third. In fact, Cybulski was 6th at NON earlier this year and beat him at SAC. Hall won it. As for the time.....14:54 at Mt SAC is a decent time but no reason for a woody. He probably didnt even crack the Top 50 All-Time List.
Will he be the next NCAA individual Champ like this guy thinks ?? Jeeeeeze.....put the KY down and relax for a couple years. If he is still running by then, and doing well, then you can start with your Idol worshiping.
He ran 8:47 as a Jr for the full 2 & I don't think he's even broke 4:15. He also ran an incredible 10k on the roads at Altitude. He's from Altitude, so that should help a lot with the transition to Colorado. There's still a lot to be seen this year, but his future looks promising.
I'd say 8:47 2 mile as a junior is pretty nasty. He's not a god, but he's damn good and has a great shot at a national title this year.
I think he had one of the top two mile times ever for a junior, he was right behind acosta at NON. He is incredibly talented, a hard worker and the most humble runner ever/ So give it a break man in putting him down. He will be top 3 at footlocker nationals and one of the top in the NCAA.
He ran 8:46 actually.
That's top 10(at least) junior class all-time. Only a few seconds slower than Ritz.
That's just a bit better than decent. Maybe a little.
Good pick up for the Buffs.
Haha, yeah. They really gave it to me hard with that one.
But I still think that Wisconsin, Oregon, Stanford and Arkansas all get better recruits than CU, with or without Tebo.

First of all I'm not the same guy, I haven't followed Tebo too closely over the years.
But you didn't set anything straight. I think a 8:47 full 2 is pretty damn impressive. And this year, I think that he was injured or something in the summer and that's why he had a slow start? I heard something like that. But he'll be rolling by FLN.
Even if he doesn't win FLN, I think he has a ton of talent. What did Solinsky run in the 2-mile? 8:45? So if Tebo can drop 2-3 seconds this year then he'll be at Solinsky's level, who is vying for the national title this year. I don't see why Matt Tebo doesn't have the talent to do the same.
If he improves rather than levels off this year, places 1st or 2nd at FLN, runs 8:43, he'd have to be considered one of the best high school runners in the last ten years along with Ritzenhein and Solinsky.
So I don't think it's too far off to ask a question. CU has a history the last ten or so years of male natinoal champions. Yet no one has come into the school recently with that kind of potential/talent for a little while. So maybe now?

ummm actually he ran 8:47
As good as he was lat year, he got spanked by Chad Hall and a couple of others at the Mt. SAC Invitational in October.
Chad Hall or the Grima Wormtongue dude from Georgia by way of Kenya and Ethiopia will win the big prize at Balboa Park.
Anyone know who Wormtongue and Hall are leaning to?
Did Stanford pick up any distance runners during the early signing period?
Key word there poster...October, who cares about October.
Mt. Sac is huge but I cannot remember the last 5 people to win that race (I do not live on the West Coast). But I can name the last 5 FLXC winners.
October is crap, December is what matters.
Big winner in the early signing might be Indiana.
Picked up Hubers from GA and Turner and Weatherford from IN.
All went 4:08 for 1600m as juniors.
Diego Mercado spanked Acosta at Mt Sac last year & look how they finished at Nationals. It's called peaking.

I believe the kid has the third fastest two mile time ever run by a high school junior, behind only Hulst and Ritzenhein. He is absolutely amazing and was injured slightly during the end of the summer, which could have hampered his mt. sac performance. Btw...I don't suppose you remember the national xc champion (who also went on to run 8:43,4:01 and 1:51 in track) losing that invitational as well.
That invitational=Mt. Sac. Sorry.
Tebo = slow twitch, high altitude. Good match w/Wetmore.

Solinsky ran 8:46, negative splitting from 4:27 to 4:15.9 for his two 1600 splits....at the beginning of the track season (Arcadia). Tebo got pulled into an 8:47 in late, late summer. Solinsky also got 3rd at footlocker as a junior (behind Tim Moore who would go on to win USA JR XC nationals that year and Bobby Lockhart, when he was one of the most decorated HS athletes out there), before winning it in 14:40 on balboa (5 secs slower than Ritz's Disney land time), in what was tied for the largest margin of victory with Ritz. He also split 1:52 and ran a 4:03+ 1600.
Tebo has an all time time for juniors, but he isn't as versatile or prolific as solinsky was. I think Jager has more of the versatility and prolific nature solinsky possessed, but we'll see.
