Talking about USC beat Arkansas is like WVU talking about beating Georgia last year. It is not very relevant. Different QB, different RB, first game for the O.C. Different team really. USC would probably lose at Arkansas if they played now.
It's no different than Texas beating an Ohio State team early last year that was entirely different by year's end. But it's hard to argue the fact that Texas earned the championship by beating both Ohio State and USC and winning their conference outright.
No doubt USC had a rough stretch in conference this year, but they seem to be getting their act back together. It doesn't matter when teams fall on their schedule. The FACT remains that they humiliated Arkansas (I like Arkansas by the way), Nebraska, and quite possibly Notre Dame. No one else has done anything comparable. Hell, Ohio State and Michigan each have one quality win and THAT'S IT. We really don't know how good their conference is. I think one could make the argument that they are overrated. We just won't know until the bowls. But it's not SC's fault that the best team in the SEC and Big 12 fell early on their schedule. I guess Arkansas should have been better prepared to play.
