This is not a thread about minimalism. I'm not talking about running in racing flats or Puma H-Streets. I am talking about running in light weight trainers such as Brooks Axiom IIs. Over the past year I've begun rotating my shoes between Brooks Addiction 6s (now 7s) and a light weight trainer for workouts (such as the Axiom IIs). I've had good results. However, it seems like my Addictions don't feel right anymore. They're the same shoe as always but my foot and ankle muscles get kinda tired in them and I just feel sluggish while running. My light weight shoes feel much better and they make running more enjoyable. I'm just a little afraid to do all of my runs a light shoe.
Is it okay to train in light weight trainers all the time? I'm in HS and am a natural heal striker, but I've been gradually transitioning to a mid-foot striker, if that makes any difference.
What kind of shoes do you train in?
