I can't find a topic about this subject on this board, but I heard a lot of good things about a trainings method, that says distance runs are wrong, only do extensive interval training & 1x fartlek / race a week. Here is an example:
mon : wu / 15 x 200, p=200jog / cd
tue : wu / 10 x 400, p=400jog / cd
wed : wu / 6 x 1000, p=1000jog / cd
thu : wu / 10 x 400, p=400jog / cd
fri : off
sat : wu / 15 x 200, p=200jog / cd
sun : race / fartlek
training Times:
*30min 10-ker : 1000m in 3:23 - 3:08 / 400m in 1:15 - 1:09 / 200m in 34 - 31
*32min 10k-er : 1000m in 3:35 - 3:20 / 400m in 1:17 - 1:11 / 200m in 36 - 33
*34min 10-ker : 1000m in 3:47 - 3:32 / 400m in 1:23 - 1:16 / 200m in 38 - 33
*36min 10k-er : 1000m in 3:59 - 3:44 / 400m in 1:27 - 1:19 / 200m in 39 - 35
Does any of you guys have some experience with this kind of training? Or what do you think about it? i would like to know it!
