SUNYAC is a crap meet, with two good teams and the rest decent at best. It will be a dual meet between G and C, everyone else just keep your eyes looking forward to watch the race unfold. Watch my boy Nally run you all into the ground.

At least Nate Lowe is man enough to let people know who he actually is on this board. The rest of us hide behind fake names.
Well then he's going to have to be man enough to suffer the consequences of posting over and over and over and over again under his name. Don't think just because someone posts under their real name that that makes them immune to criticism because we're supposed to respect them or something.
Your boy shamus isn't even the best guy on his team. He'll be luck to get 5th again this year.

team score-
Cortland- 39
Geneseo- 43
Brockport- 82
Plattsburgh- 90
Oneonta- 125
Fredonia- 130
Oswego 150
thats my take on how it will pan out. It is almost impossible to predict who will win because of such great talent and pack times, but with Cortland's top 2 in front of Geneseo, it wil be tough for Geneseo to take them. On the same token, we thought the same about Joslyn last year, but who would have guessed that Kolb would have beaten him and DeShane would have beat him by 40 seconds.
DeShane will win taking a walk in the park, when it comes time for him to run fast in November he will be 30 seconds up on any SUNY runner in the region, 15 on any other runner.
On another note, anyone wondering how Bockport made it the women's national poll? Somehow they haven't raced a full team since pre-nationals. Cortland, SLU, Fredonia, Plattsburgh, RIT all have shots at beating them and you may even say are better than them...wierd.
Geneseo wins by 7 pts
Seems pretty obvious to me:
1.Cortland - front runners too strong
2.Geneseo - good pack
3.Brockport - Kolb will help
4.Plattsburgh - Deshane/Asher will make up for lack of 3-5
5.Oswego - two words...WESTON FELLOWS
6.Oneonta - transfer Grout adds a much needed boost
7.Fredonia - still no Forma/Pond
8.Buffalo State - having a sprinter coach doesnt help
9.SUNYIT - good showing at Hamilton
10.New Paltz - 30:10 team avg at Albany
11.Potsdam - 30:41 team avg at Albany
not as obvious:
1.Deshane
2.Nally
3.Kolb
4.Cloke
5.Berube
6.Mcgrath
7.Henry
8.Lockett
9.Asher
10.Fellows
Geneseo is the "honors college of the SUNY system...a public ivy." Kids that don’t want to pay as much to go to Harvard go to Geneseo. Their team has the highest average SAT/ACT score of any SUNY team. Clearly, they will run the smartest race and win the 2006 SUNYAC title.
And when you graduate, you will be working for Geneseo alumni.
Braahahaha
"Those who don't want to pay to go to Harvard - choose Geneseo"? You have got to be kidding!
Geneseo does not even rank up as high as some of the state schools in other states. They may be better than the ones in NY (need I say any more) but to make a statement like that - WOW what big ones you have. Geneseo and Harvard must never be mentioned in the same sentence again - they belong in with the likes of Edinboro, PA, Rowan, NJ, etc. They are a state school and educationally not even in the same universe with the likes of highley selective private liberal arts colleges!!
touche
Geneseo is a decent school. Its not a public ivy ala Berkley or W&M, but its also a liberal arts school without a national reputation. If you're going pre med or looking to get a PHd in some sort of science, its a decent option because grad schools actually look fairly highly on Geneseo, at least in the sciences. The interesting thing is they were constantly in the top 10 in regional rankings till recent years, mainly because the college has one of the lowest operating budgets in the SUNY system and low alumni giving. (with those stats, is it a wonder?)
And if you're going to make a state school compairson, Edinboro isn't fair (Edinboro and Brockport would make sense). Its more akin to college of new jersey in terms of average SATs, etc. You need about a 1200 to get into Genseeo these days, higher than what is needed at a number of the colleges rated ahead of it in the US News rankings. Oddly, I knew people who got into Cornell (the statutory Ag School, not Arts and Science) and not Geneseo - if you can believe that. Its probably a weird quirk with the state funding since Cornell's ALS tries to pull in kids from rural NY areas that Geneseo doesn't given its strong Western NY bias with admissions...go figure.
If your in NY, Geneseo Vs Other SUNY may make a difference. Do people outside of NY really know that Geneseo is supposed to be a better school?
Does a 3.5 from Genseeo really look much better than a 3.5 from Plattsburgh or Cortland?
I think you are kidding yourselves if you think it makes a difference.
If you're looking to get employed in NY, then it makes a difference. People outside NY don't know that that certain SUNY schools are better than others, but here in state, employers know.

With that grammar, you obviously didn't go to Geneseo.
Cortland:29
Geneseo:40
cortland - 3 5 6 7 8 (9)
geneseo - 2 4 10 11 13
deshane wins big ~30 secs
course was ridiculuously short and extremely muddy
geneseo girls won as expected, wizowaty(sp?) from plattsburgh won by about a minute over montgomery
What a mess the course was. It was a swamp and very short! It would guess it was only about 7k. Winning time 23:25.

I'm not saying greenlaw isn't a loss but its not really a big problem in regards to how they might finish at YACS or regionals. When Cortland has run their full team he's never even cracked into the top 5. So bummer yes but big problems...no.
Well he finished 3rd overall, first for Cortland.
Wow, couple of suprises:
1. Cortland's frosh is 3rd
2. Cortland beats Geneseo (by showing a better pack, something geneseo is known for)
3. Oswego upsets for 4TH
4. Nate lockett is 2nd (He'll be in the top 3 at regionals, don't forget it)
5. Take the best of everyone except geneseo and cortland, and they still get housed by either geneseo or cortland (only 4 non-gen/cort runners in top 20)
Non suprise of the day:
1. Deshane crushes everyone.
