A new distance only track festival is happening on May 17th at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. This meet promises to be a celebration of distance running, featuring former American record holder Alan Webb as the starter for the mile, and the only of its kind in the DC area.

Sounds awesome. I'd sign up if there's a 20k racewalk added. Otherwise, let me know if there's a need for a mile pacer. I could bring the field through 1200m in 2:55.
Kind of surprised there aren't more meets in the DMV like this. Given all of the hype I hear about DC being this amazing city for running, you'd think they'd have more post-collegiate track meets like they do in Boston or NYC.
George Mason is in Fairfax and I know when I ran at Mason in the mid 80's we were always driving to places to train like Burke Lake, Lorton when we did run around the campus we were getting chased off from running the perimeter of the local cemetery. Hope the meet goes well.
We don't have strict standards; we just accept the top 12-15 of each race into the elite/select heats. Our fields are shaping up well; here's where we currently are, and I expect entries will pick up as the meet gets closer.
