Since having several injuries, I've been keeping mileage low and only running 2 days in a row then taking a rest day. However, on Thursday I was jogging (around a 10 min pace- Usually run more of a 8:15 pace). Started to feel discomfort on my foot. I think it was under my 3rd and 4th metatarsal into my toes, but it was hard to pinpoint. Discomfort was minor but I'm so cautious so I stopped. Spent the next couple days walking a ton due to travel. Noticed the discomfort very very slightly at push off. Again hard to know if it was top or bottom of foot. Today I did a one minute test jog and definitely feel it so I'm not running and seeing an orthopedist but curious if anyone has any thoughts. I obviously go to metatarsal stress reaction but I would think the pain would be prominently on top of foot. I've tried pushing around on the bones on top of foot and nothing seems to stand out. No pain at all when pushing on bottom of foot. Thank you! Really hoping this is something minor but usually minor stuff is gone in 24 hours.
