On April 27th, adidas Running brings you the fourth edition of Adizero: Road To Records. It’s an event designed to do one thing: make running history. We’re...
Hopefully she’ll do well. She’ll be facing top competition so it’s definitely great experience for the upcoming trials and beyond.
That said, who is currently coaching her? I want a real answer from someone that knows. I’m not trying to turn this thread into one with a bunch of innuendo and accusations.
Wiley, only collegiate athlete and one of two American women to run sub-1:58 in 800 and sub-4:00 in 1,500, decides to forgo remaining eligibility at NAIA Huntington University in Indiana and pursue professional opportunities...
This is old news. Her coach is Lauren Johnson. She also confirmed to Gault she has been coached by her continuously at Huntington.
Completely false. She is coached by her now, not while she was at Huntington. I'm sure she offered advise but was not her coach.
You haven't been paying attention. Lauren Johnson was the actual real official Huntington University coach for a while. So of course Wiley was coached officially by Lauren Johnson at Huntington. How are you not aware of that?
Then Lauren Johnson got fired but still coached Wiley, which Wiley lied about for a while but finally admitted. When Wiley went pro, Wiley said that she would continue to be coached by Lauren Johnson. Those other Huntington University coaches were Wiley's coaches in name only.
What does it matter at this point anyway? It seems like she got what she wanted (a shoe deal and back to being coached by Lauren). No need to cover anything up anymore. Look forward, not behind.

It matters when one of the top distance runners in america is being coached by known (or at least highly suspected) dopers/sex offenders

...butt, looking at the behind does have some merits.
That is true. We heard for years that Tuohy was a generational talent and that she only trailed her elders but now Wiley and Valby have left her in the dust. So of course her name will come up as a comparison. If Tuohy is a generational talent, Wiley is a once in a lifetime talent. It is a complement to her that her name come up.

Professional athletes get to choose their coach. Wiley chose Johnson. Wiley doesn't need your approval on who coaches her.
(Prediction - This post will get downvotes from people who actually think they should have a say in who a professional athlete chooses as their coach.)
