Izzie Sullivan ran a 800, 4x800, 1500, and 3000.
How is that even allowed? I get that FM isn’t deep like they used to be, but isn’t there a limitation on how many distance events an individual is allowed to run in one meet?
This happens way more than you think.
In the good old days our HS had 14 weekday duel meets + Saturday invitationals. It was always 4 distance races, the ones you mention or the 4x400. The trick to handling it was to realize you couldn't constantly run all these events all out. So duel meets against lesser teams became workouts, and the hard efforts were weekends against good competition.
When I was in school there WAS a limit and that limit was 4, but it wasn't limited to distance events (that was everyone's limit).
HS track does not have distance events. The 3K is mid-d. Distance events are the 5,000m, 10,000m, and marathon. The runners you mention ran zero distance events.
3200, 1600, 800, 800. Looks like a workout with long rest. It probably is an easy day for big programs
In any case... it's been a good 5 years since FM has done anything noteworthy as a team. Maybe the obsession some posters have with them should be put on hold for a spell.
What’s it your business what schools run? Plenty of HS trs have kids run multiple events. Why do you even care? Or are you a coach who needs to vent in LetsRun. Mind your own business
