I agree and I just asked them about it - they said that the top collegians in the other heat didn’t want to run as fast a pace as they did (they’re setting out at 13:05 pace)

Agreed. It’s also nice that they have the clock running so you know when to expect the next lap. First time I’ve seen it. Very nice timekeeping ststem
dang, so no Graham Blanks tonight?
What’s with all the DNF in heat3? Was it just a 3k tempo run or injury related?
He’s in the 5000m. Ramsden doubled in the 5000m, running 15:44, 4sec off her PR.
Nice to see Tyynismaa back with a solid time, 15:40
Nobody wanted to run fast tonight. Wolfe dominates in 13:27 with a 1:59 final 800
Blanks was 4th in 13:37, so solid first race and will be an regional qualifier.
Wolfe with a 4:04 last 1600m in 13:27 race is pretty gnarly
This is just the nature of how outdoors is setup. Unless you get in a rare meet like Bryan Clay with good pro runners, there is very little incentive to run faster than a solid regional qualifier unless you are chasing a world/national standard. Indoors puts so much pressure on athletes to race fast having to be top 16 in the country, top 48 in the region is a jog for many of these top athletes.
7:57 at 3000m for Cooper & Cole
solid 13:08 for Cole
Hocker 13:08.25
Looks like they'll need to speed up quite a bit to get a qualifier, if they want it.
I guess they didn't get it. That's not a bad time for Hocker at this time of year, several seconds slower than what they ran a few years ago, I think, but Hocker was obviously very good indoors, so no worries for him. If Teare wasn't far back, that would be a good result for him.
Yeah I think they definitely peaked for that race 2 years ago whereas here I imagine they are still in hard training. Will be interesting if teare gets the 1500m standard at UVA next week
Not true. PR for Hocker. He and Teare will also run a 5k at LA Grand Prix. Cheptegai, barga, Mo Ahmed, etc will be there.
Rachel McArthur 4:07 and change. Haters go home devastated.

You could tell Blanks wanted to race tonight even after not running a race since December. He actually looked really good and if he keeps stacking training weeks he should be right there again. Wolfe looked good. NCAAs are going to be fun this year
Freshman Rocky Hansen of Wake Forest with a solid 13:44 outdoor debut

Whoa, Lemngole drops the hammer!👀
So... How fast is Lemnegole going this season? Is she going to take down Wayment's record? It's interesting because I think she is faster than Olemomoi who is really in sub 15 shape right now. I hesitate to call her the steeple favorite off of one race but the gauntlet has been thrown.
