Five Guys....they were $ before C, and now with persistent I, their prices are only going ^^^.
I remember when Five Guys came out - it was not cheap but was pretty good at a reasonable price. Those days are long gone. I quit going there like 5 years ago. Not worth it.
People have been saying this since the days of Circuit City going bankrupt. But it turns out people still like buying large purchases in person, appliances, TV and such. They've outlasted their competitors pretty well in that space, so I think they're safe for now.
I'd have to say it's going to be in the restaurant space as well. A chain that relies on the average consumer willing to spend extra money for not all the much better of a product is in trouble with inflation here to stay. And fast food is pretty resilient because of the convenience factor. So I'll put my money on Applebee's. All we need is a moderate downturn in the economy and those dollars are only going to groceries for their typical customer.

I read an article recently which was talking about fast food prices skyrocketing recently and how going to Chilis or Applebees and almost the same price as going to mcDonalds. McDonalds is crap and the price differential is almost non-existent.
Just to respond to a lot of these posts at once, I'll say that a lot of the "nicer" fast-casual places are going to feel the impact of inflation in 3Q and 4Q of this year. Places like CAVA and Sweetgreen and 5 Guys are great ideas and tasty, but when it costs $25-$30 for a single meal it starts to lose it's purpose. Even Chilis or Applebees (or one of those chains) has a commercial attacking their prices and inviting people to make to-go orders at their places instead. We'll see. I took my family of 5 to CAVA not long ago and it was almost $100 and no one even got drinks. Not sustainable, but I hope I am wrong.
I think places like Popeye's and Taco Bell are fine. They'll adapt and lower quality and no one will care.
I think Church's is a non-profit, so they will be fine. If not a non-profit, they have some sort of alternative setup that keeps them afloat.
Probably any chain with a disproportionate share of their business in California. Wage inflation combined with an exile of high earners and a lack of enforcement of shoplifting / theft should do the trick.
Trump supporters want more layoffs and misery so they can own the libs.
Left wingers want more layoffs and misery so more people will be dependent on the governmment and they will literally own the libs, physically and mentally.
When I see a Best Buy, I immediately think of Blockbuster for some reason
Probably. What can you get at best buy that you can't get elsewhere for the same price or cheaper? Nothing, maybe a few out of box deals.
They had a "gamers club" which was the best discount on video games until a few years ago, but that is gone so now that market has no reason to go there.
