josette norris also injured per strava, geez year not going great for everyone at OAC other than yared and beamish
Dathan is touted as this phenomenal coach but in my opinion, the hurry is still out. Andrew’s should have made the team last year but didn’t. Huge opportunity last year for Hurta-Klecker as well but she also missed the team. This year has been all over the place. Klecker, Monson and Andrew’s are all injured. Vissa was also injured and missed indoors. Mario Garcia Romo had an awful indoors and might be injured now as well. He’s been out of social media. Haven’t seen him in any videos or pics recently. Ollie Hoare had a major injury last year and will be opening-up at the Aussie trials next weekend. Presumably healthy but was injured at the worst time last year and has to miss worlds. I get that they’re trying to be the best in the world and pushing the boundaries. That being said, the team has been remarkably healthy since their inception. Whatever changes they made this year aren’t working for most of the group. When half your team is injured, something is wrong.
Totally agree.
Apparently it was more than a stomach bug. She probably left due to pain from an injury she has

That is crazy talk. Andrews said she was going all-in on the 5k after her last race. What evidence is there now that her stock on making the team has dropped??
Said? Talk is cheap. Too many others will rise to the top 3 occasion. She chokes under pressure. Like the last 2 Trials. And what’s up with her suddenly deleting most of her activities on Strava for 2023 and part of 2024 since yesterday? Since this thread actually. Is that supposed to throw us off?? LOL
Not sure what you’re talking about. I follow her strava and can see every activity in 2023-2024. Last post was March 13th I see.

So on her Instagram, Monson confirmed the stomach bug at the 10, and there is no mention of an injury. Since I don’t do Strava, can somebody please post up the evidence?

Nope, and you know it. Used to have activities every single day up. Now magically they're gone except for key workouts including her last on March 13. Injured AND sneaky
Nah, I can still see all the posts. I think the account is just private so you just have to be a follower to see it all.
Bad shoes, worse coach.

Ah, perhaps. But funny that all of a sudden there was a change today from a public account to "request to follow". Can't take the heat on and off the track.

Any team is a small sample size and sometimes a coach can just have some bad luck. Isn’t every team trying to be the best in the world and are pushing the boundaries?

Hasn’t been training for weeks. Been on the elliptical every day or so instead.

Definitely. I also don’t follow her and when this thread started I saw all her DAILY activities for the entire year. Then I looked again when I saw this comment and the majority were deleted. Then this morning all of a sudden it’s a private account. Definitely an odd bird
are any of the OAC Americans racing before trials?

Should Andrews have definitely made the team? Natosha Rogers has a good setup, has refocused and seems the bigger talent. Monson made it an honest race which hurt Andrews’ chances too. 4th seemed about right for Andrews to me. Hurta-Klecker is the tougher one to swallow, as she was also injured throughout and there were 4 spots.
This year has been rough, but Beamish, Nuguse and McDonald (for the most part) have been positive stories. If Mario, Jonas and Vissa are struggling outdoors or more athletes get hurt, then yes it seems a little reminiscent of Bowerman towards the end with an alarming number of injuries.
You can't bat .300 when you're totally in control of the recruiting, training and racing. Nobody tackling them, nobody throwing nasty splitters.
You expect minimum .800 from a pro running squad. Yes, even with rubbish shoes.
