Announced during the Miramar meet earlier today by the way.
At this point I have zero interest in what Sydney will or will not run.
No he stated he was not sure about sydney
Do we know Boldon's exact words on the matter? It's one thing being certain, but another if he 'thinks' or 'isn't sure'.
Maybe he had been reading Sydney's autobiography :-)
Up until now I believed that Kersee intends her to double at the US Olympic Trials, with a view to making a decision after the Trials as to whether she doubles in Paris. But the more I think about it, I think Kersee is being Kersee, and the Trials timetable, being set up for said double, is just to keep us guessing, and the aim is just the 400m flat. If, for some reason, she falters & DNQ (unlikey) then she has the 400mh as back up as it's the last event, but the aim is the flat. If she Qs in the flat, then she DNS the 400mh.
There are pros and cons to this. It means the 400m flat could be an amazing event in Paris, maybe better than Atlanta 96, in terms of times & depth. This will potentially be the first time ever (?) where we have 4 women with sub 49 PBs racing (Miller-Uibo; Naser; McLaughlin & Paulino) that's without the other contenders (Adeleke; Wilson; Sada Williams; Kazmarek; Klaver...). It could be THE event of the Games. It also means the path to gold for Bol is easier. The con, of course, would be no McLaughlin v Bol clash.
Shot put.
