Actually, the obvious question here is why you're too dim-witted to grasp that any bridge in the world would go down when a fully-loaded 1000-foot container ship blasted straight into its main support-pillar at 10 knots.
Says the guy who drops his car off with a redneck when the little engine light comes on.
This is such a bad take that I think you’re just trolling. In case you’re not, I can tell you that I work closely with many architects and engineers -from civil to electrical- and many, if not most, are good old boy types. They may not drink oleatos at the cafe, but they’ll design and build a damn-safe bridge or building.
I’m probably closer politically to you than them, but a truly bad take needs to be called out.
Is anyone surprised that this happened on "Mayor Pete"'s watch?
I'm never one to take up for Mayor Pete... but FFS, when a 100,000 ton ship hits a bridge pier, that bridge is a goner. Even if Bob the Builder is secretary of transportation.
That being said, I am confident that Pete's response to this incident will mainly consist of traveling the globe to view spectator events and lecture on gender-equity issues.

We didn't see 100,000 ton ships running into bridges before Mayor Pete was in charge...
The Army Corps of Engineers is actually a smart move as they are competent. The only downside is that Biden/Buttigieg/Moore won't be able to showcase their DEI army of blue-haired sociologists and Baltimore City high school grads who would never get the bridge fixed.
More than 1,100 members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will assist in clearing the Fort McHenry Channel in Maryland’s Patapsco River following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
And what difference would that make? The crash occured due to mechanical failure of the boat. A pilot would be helpless to do anything about that.
Unless it was intentionally done to remove one more monument of oppression. Francis Scott Key was a slave owner. This singular act will inspire them to rename the bridge the James Weldon Johnson bridge and replace the Star Spangled Banner with Lift Every Voice and Sing.
The collapse of the the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday is unfortunately not the first deadly collapse of a major interstate bridge in the US. But the response to a bridge failure in Minneapolis 17 years ago,...

Only a racist POS such as yourself finds a way to inject you BS racist views into a tragic accident that has zero to do with Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Minnesota had a Republican governor in 2007 and W was president. They got that bridge rebuilt in a year with clever contracting and incentives. In the 1994 Northridge, California earthquake, they rebuilt I-10 in three months under Pete Wilson.
Let's see how Biden/Buttigeig/Moore do...
How did Democrat governor Josh Shapiro do replacing the section of I-95 in Philly that collapsed last year?
Improper grammar here. It's Democratic Governor.
To your question, traffic was flowing over I-95 in just 12 days. I-95 reopening in Philadelphia 12 days after collapse - CBS Philadelphia (cbsnews.com)
