Provide proof (not your uneducated assumptions) that there was something amiss with either the track, the starting lines, or the timing. Otherwise, just deal with the fact this was a superb performance.
They ran 39.9 at districts. A full SECOND off their “record”
I knew they wouldn’t come close to it again.
And 38.9 and 39.9 are in different worlds. Some national teams don’t run 38.9
Yeah, at their DISTRICT meet. They have district, then area, then regional, then states.
They have another month of season with like 4-5 more rounds. Do you seriously think they went all out today? Or anywhere close to all out? If you think they went all out in their 1st round of competition then you should never be allowed to post on a sprint related thread again.

Doesn’t make sense. Then why go all out at Rice? The second place team was right on them at districts. They were going all out, they won by 0.08 seconds. If they didn’t give 100% they would have lost.
But I’m willing to give it the rest of the season to see if they can replicate this time.

>Then why go all out at Rice?
That was the first time their entire team had run together, in that order. Also, it was their last meet before championship season so they wanted to see what they could do. This isn't me guessing, either. You can go watch their interview for yourself.

Why go all out? They don't even need to win, they need to qualify for the next meet in the championship season. They didn't even win the 4x200.
By the way, I will say that I was VERY surprised by Galena North Shore running under 40. If there is any meet where I would question the timing, it would be that one. where did that even come from??

So, of the 10 fastest 4 x 100 relays of all time, 4 were set this year by Texas schools with 3 coming at the Rice meet and another, Galena Park, coming at their district meet. A heck of a coincidence. Galena Park is not yet listed on the Track and Field News list. You had 2 other Texas schools, Fort Bend Marshall and Klein Forest, run all-time top 10 times last year. So, in 2023 and 2024, 6 of the 10 fastest 4 x 100 times were set by Texas schools.
