I'm really wondering about Fisher. Obviously he can run a lot faster than 26:52 right now, but he skipped World Indoors to train for this, and he was only .7s ahead of Nico, who was training to win a 3k and a 5k last week. Fisher definitely looked the best out there, and he was going for the standard, not a PB, but jeez if Nico is that close after winning the 3k/5k double last week, how close will he be 4 months from now (presumably actually training for 10k this time)?
In a 27:30+ race, Nico is definitely more susceptible to getting outkicked by Kincaid, but Nico has had a heck of a kick lately, and he outkicked Woody in a tactical sub-27 race. They also have the same coach. Hopefully we see Nico v Woody in a 5k before the trials to get a better idea of how they stack up in a real race. Also, the fact that Nico can kick off that pace is gonna be really useful in the Olympics.
