He knows that and he is calling it quits after this outdoor season.
Even if he was in his prime, he has no chance in this strong era of 1500m running.

Never bring up the fact that the gold medal race was won at 3:50:xx.
Cry babies will enter this arena and complain.
The OP is a bum, but the only way Centro is in Paris is if he buys a ticket to watch.

Fun fact about Centro. After his race he threw his bib in a garbage can in the infield and walked over to the stands to talk to people right where I was standing. A boy in the stands asked Centro for his bib.
So Centro went back to the infield, got the bib out of the garbage can, and as he was handing his bib to the boy said, "Someone just threw up on it but don't worry, I wiped it off." Ha ha. Centro was in a very good mood last night.
He’s always great with the fans. I saw him a few times at the 5th Avenue mile. After the race, more people wanted pics with him than with all the other runners combined.
The only reason I can see to hate on Centro is jealousy.
There's barely any money in running as it is. Most of the pros start and still do it for passion. Telling someone to retire from their passion just because they are slightly older than they were 4 years ago is ridiculous.
Did you feel good typing that whilst running a 18 min 5k? Let people do what they want smh

He will be in 3:32 shape during the trials. He needs a quick pace in the final and some guys going for the win late that can’t hang on Nuguse and he will sneak past a Hobbs or Hocker in the last 50.

Centro haters are the bottom rung of letsrun filth. True bottomdwellers. They took a wrong turn in life and never came back

He ran a pedestrian 3:38.8 at the Sound running meet tonight, he’s way past his prime by a few years now. After being defeated by Cole Hocker in 2021, he’s been washed ever since. Just needs to call it quits
Why? Leave the guy alone. He loves what he's doing and still faster than a lot of people. I don't get you people on this board.
Oh ya, baby, Gnome has the VP slot locked up. She had an affair with that ratman Lewandowski, so you know she's down to service Trump's little mushroom whenever the need arises. Habba's time as the royal sidepiece is OVER. From now on, any conservative male who isn't beating their little pud to KKKristie is a RINO traitor.

You've got a lot of nerve thinking you have the right to tell an Olympic gold medalist what to do with his career. He's earned the right to end it on whatever terms he wants.

Losing by 1.3 seconds at his age isn’t too bad.
You're acting like he's old
Centro should keep running for a living for as long as he can get paid to run for a living.

Wrong thread Dummy.
Yeah pretty sure he has world and an Olympic medal so he ain't need to move anywhere. Not his move, he's good. Sit down haters.

1. That guy posts like a 15 year old, not a 45 year old. 2. Divorce requires marriage. You're being very charitable. 3. Two hours a day on PH? LOL! Doing what exactly? IDC if you're snorting lines of crushed blue pills and ritalin...no 45 y/o LRer has that much focus, stamina.

The recency bias here lately is astounding.
Centro didn't just win that slow ass gold medal in '16. He medaled in '11 and '13 right on the heels of Asbel Kiprop, a 3:26 1500m man (and doped to the gills).
Do you think Kiprop wouldn't be able to stack up today?
Plus gold at World Indoors. And inches from bronze in 2012. Man, his 2011-2016 run was one for the ages.
Far as I'm concerned, he can extend his victory lap as long as he'd like.
I don't think he should retire, but I don't expect him to be a factor in any sub 3:30 major championship. In the last 5 years, I've been heartened that Cheruiyot, Jakob, et al have not allowed inferior runners to steal major championships.
Confirmed - this will be his last season
what a great career he has had, well liked by fans too

We have an early nominee for Post of the Year.
