More encouraging for Jager imo. A better opener than we’ve seen from Centro in recent years but I don’t think that means he’s gonna be in 3:30 shape in 3 months. Moreover, he just doesn’t seem to have the same relaxed sprint speed he was known for.
I was talking to Jon about this. The record for most sub-27s in a race is 9. What is like 15 guys do it? We haven't seen a race like this with super shoes, have we? In an Olympic year?
But now I"m pissed. Rather than watch it now, it's muted and I'm typing here. I was hoping to be drinking at my friends house until 12 and then working on the recaps while in the uber home but my friends were too tired so I took a raincheck. Any basketball on?
I'll stay up for a live pod if at least one of the following happens:
Monson and Kelati go sub-30. Six or more men get the standard. Six or more women get the standard.

Here is a man who can drink on the job. Congratulations Rojo!
I think that 10 guys sub 27 is an extremely positive scenario. Here is who I think have a shot in a race that takes off from the lights with a mile to go:
Grant Fisher - 26:43 Wildschutt - 26:47 Nico Young - 26:48 Abdi Nur - 26:49 Mo Ahmed - 26:51 Andreas Almgren - 26:52 Edwin Kurgat - 26:53 Ben Flanagan - 26:55 Woody Kincaid - 26:56 Joe Klecker - 26:57
Tuntivate's decision to drop the 10k for the 1500 sure did work out.
Never expected him to win, much less outkick 3:54 miler Ratcliffe.
And, Centro 3:38.+ opener -- well ahead of where he's been at this time the past few years.
Tuntivate mentioned in his post-race interview the 5k will be his focus this year, so now makes sense re: not running the Paris 10k despite his 27:17 pr.
BTC guys running 3:37s & 3:40, and sometimes-training-partner Centro running 3:38, off fall-winter distance training, suggests we will see something really fast from Mo, Charlie, and Karissa in the upcoming 10ks.
And, by all accounts, sometimes-training-partner Grant is in "dumb" fitness, per the Coffee Club boiz.
PS. Let's go Nico. An LRC vicitor called me on my prediction and has bet me $500. I pay him $500 if Nico doesn't break 27 flat. IF he does, he pays me. If he runs 27:00.00, Jonathan Gault (the venmo middleman) gets it.
Bet is void if Nico is a DNS or if his shoe falls off at any point in the race. I probably should have added in something about a fall but didn't.
Rojo the betting on track thing seems borderline unethical. Moreover, you seem to generally bet on many things and always talk about it posts and podcasts. Are you betting too much?
Centro seemed happy with his run. Totally relaxed while chatting with friends in the stands. Gave some kids his bib. Not fat, sunkissed hair, wearing his tried and true blue Nike kit. EXPECT GREAT THINGS.

He's a lost cause. the bad part is it will genuinely ruin Gault's career and credibility at some point far down the road and this muppet will be the genesis of that. there will eventually be betting and points shaving on track, and media access will be part of the scandal.

Yes. He is in a very good mood. Hopefully that means he knows he's on the way to fast times.
