Yeah, I used to like FloTrack, but they really seem to squeeze you these days for sub optimal content. And they know they can get people to cough up money for these events even if they aren't regular subscribers. Definitely gives a vibe that they're in it for the money and don't care about growing the sport

If you think they are making a huge profit, you are crazy.

FloTrack is a catch 22 for the sport. On one hand, they charge a high price for their “subpar” content, which fans often reluctantly pay while feeling taken advantage of. However, they provide a service few others are willing or able to do, which is broadcast a variety of events across the sport, thus (in theory) increasing the eyes on events, money flowing into the sport, etc.

People wish they would cease to exist, but if they did, there might not be a broadcast for an event like The Ten at all. So what is it? FloTrack sucks, or FloTrack is “okay”?

This is where people need to get creative if they want to end Flotracks death grip on these kinds of events.

I hate Flo Track. I will never give them a dime. These races should be on Peacock.

Flotrack pays big money to meet organizers for EXCLUSIVE rights to host meets. It's a corrupt system.

If flotrack didn't pay for those rights, anybody could go and live stream it. They are ruining the sport by making it harder for anyone to access it.

The flotrack announcers are idiots anyway, I'd rather watch a live stream with no sound. Just one guy with a camera from the press box with a cell phone camera is perfectly fine.

You idiots have no critical thinking skills, no major network (Peacock owned by NBC) is going to broadcast something that the self described loyal fans won't even pay a few dollars to watch. If no one was filling NFL stadiums, no one would be broadcasting it. Fans with a fat wallet is what they want so they can charge advertisers accordingly. People pay for the Golf Channel for Christ's sake and golfers spend a fortune and the networks see that and know they will have enough eyes on it to charge a premium. Track fans are whiney, b!tch azz, cheap little babies and unwilling to spend a penny, thus no advertiser will pay anything, thus no network will broadcast it unless it's big event. Track "fans" are illogical and their own worst enemies. You have Flotrack because you deserve Flotrack. You had the $5.99 model for the Ten, but not enough "fans" paid even that tiny amount for it to be sustainable. If all of you idiots actually paid to watch it for the $5.99, Tracklandia would have had enough to do it again, but you didn't, because you are cheap, and stupid, and little b!tches, that just like to cry and complain.

USATF should negotiate to get these races on Peacock. Do it for the fans. Track should not be a pay per view sport. It’s not boxing/MMA.

At the end of podcast RoJo and Jonathan were talking about broadcasting during the race tomorrow. Jonathan was against doing it. Please someone talk him into it! I’ll tune in for viewing party!!! Would love to watch live along with LetsRun community.

I’d pay the 5.99, I’d definitely pay $10 to see it live if I lived close enough for that to be a reasonable option. I paid for a few of those $5.99 things (even though their production quality was pretty bad). Not paying $29.99 to flotrack though. USATF should be taking the $60 a year the charge and giving members access to free race broadcasts instead of enriching a few board members. There are plenty of people willing to pay for the content, I’m just over everyone on every level just milking me for ridiculous amounts for awful content while not supporting runners or growing the sport. USATF/flotrack and the rest of them are why US can’t get 3 people under 2:08:10.

-Spent thousands going to the WCs and the nights I didn’t have tickets it was easy and free to watch on tv. Could watch almost any of the Oregon WC live without a subscription, but I paid for that because at least the production quality was ok and it was like $8 for a week of events, but them cutting away from half the 5/10k was infuriating.

Not true!!! There are 100 fans who would gladly pull out their cell phones and film the 10000 and post it for free on YouTube. Instead of a few 1000 people watching FloTrack, 2 million people would watch the free videos on YouTube. Because Flotrack has the "rights" to the event, they will force YouTube to take down any videos of the race. Flotrack is killing the sport, and keep it in obscurity. Flotrack sucks! People who are subscribing to Flotrack need to cancel their subscriptions so it goes under so anyone can film these events.

People need to boycott FloTrack until it disappears. The US isn't the only country this horrible platform gets forced on.
