i think i have the first 800 down as i went out in 2:50 in my previous 2 races but this time i think i have the fitness to maintain it but not sure what splits to hit

1:25, 1:25, 1:27, 1:23.
One common approach is to start out exactly on pace, especially for the 1st 200m. Then, very even pace as long as possible. Sprint the end. You want to avoid that one super-slow lap.
Particular to you… you will be improving almost weekly. You can start out a little faster than 1:25s per lap. Maybe aim for 1:22 for lap 1, no faster. Then resist the urge to slow down. if you are really willing to battle, and not make excuses in the middle of the race, you will improve.
And a 3rd approach: just freaking race hard and the times will come down.
